Basis Acquires 70% of Proto to Integrate Observability Platform into Basis Dynamix
Russian infrastructure software developer Basis has acquired a 70% stake in Proto, the company behind a platform for observability and operational data analytics. The deal value was not disclosed.
The transaction was structured as an investment into Proto’s capital. The proceeds will be used to further develop the product and integrate it into the Basis ecosystem. Proto will become a subsidiary of Basis but will keep its existing team and continue independent development of the Proto Observability Platform.
The acquired solution is planned for integration into the flagship Basis Dynamix platform. This will allow Basis Dynamix not only to report that infrastructure has already failed but also to issue advance warnings about potential future incidents. Proto’s AI functions will be leveraged for predictive analytics of IT system states and forecasting of incidents.
Customers who do not use other Basis products will still be offered a separate configuration of the platform. Basis expects the combined revenue generated by Proto technologies within its ecosystem to reach at least 1 billion rubles during 2026–2031.
According to Basis CEO David Martirosov, acquiring a ready-made developer reduced the time to market for observability capabilities by roughly one and a half years compared with in-house development from scratch.
Proto placed in the top three Russian suppliers of observability platforms according to the 2025 “Technologies of Trust” research. The domestic market for such solutions is estimated by various sources at 3–15 billion rubles, with annual growth of approximately 24%.
