UserGate Launches Rugged Industrial NGFW uNGFW on X10 Platform Rated for -40 to +60 °C

UserGate has released the uNGFW next-generation firewall on the new X10 hardware platform, purpose-built to secure industrial control systems and OT networks in extreme environments.

The device is intended for deployment at the boundary between IT and OT segments, inside industrial DMZs, between production workshops, and at remote facilities ranging from electrical substations and extraction sites to fuel stations. It can be mounted directly on a DIN rail and continues to function at temperatures from −40 to +60 °C with humidity up to 80 %.

X10 replaces the discontinued X1 model and inspects traffic of 35 industrial protocols, among them Modbus, OPC UA, Profinet IO and S7Comm. For six key protocols the integrated intrusion-prevention system can examine individual commands inside sessions and block unauthorized operations—an essential capability when legacy equipment cannot be powered down for updates.

High availability is ensured by two independent power inputs and hardware bypass, which keeps the network link active if the appliance itself fails. Peak power consumption is limited to 24 W. The platform delivers up to 1780 Mbit/s throughput and supports as many as 500 000 simultaneous connections.

Administrators can manage X10 centrally together with other UserGate security products, applying consistent policies across geographically dispersed sites without the need for on-site staff at every location. The hardware was designed by UserGate’s internal engineering bureau and is manufactured in Saint Petersburg. It is now available for ordering and pilot testing through the company’s partners.
